Through Positive Eyes

Presentation of “Through Positive Eyes” - an international photography project that enables people living with HIV to empower themselves by sharing their stories through photography. The project challenges the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS, while teaching the importance of compassion and the power of living a positive life. Dr. Roger Detels, Professor of Epidemiology at the UCLA School of Public Health,  will present on the HIV epidemic in a global context. Dr. Cathryn Dhanatya, Director of Research Development and Financial Administration at the Art and Global Health Center at UCLA, will present photographs taken in March 2010 by people living with HIV in South Africa.
