Unsatisfied with his fate, Kavi must either accept what he’s always been told, or fight for a different life even if he’s unsure of the ultimate outcome." Soccer in the Streets

Where
Salt Lake Park
3401 E. Florence Ave.
Huntington Park, CA  90255

When:  Sunday April 18th, 1pm - 5pm, Food provided

"Soccer in the Streets" is a community-wide soccer game and Health Fair that promotes fitness and nutrition for youth in Huntington Park. This city was chosen because the youth's current lifestyle and environment puts them at risk for obesity and diabetes. Also, this community's majority Latino population has close cultural ties to soccer; our hope is to use this connection to encourage nutrition, fitness, and overall better health behaviors in this population. With the support of the city, Los Angeles’ two largest universities, Hollywood United, and the Los Angeles Futbol Club Foundation (LAFC), we anticipate "Soccer in the Streets" to be a groundbreaking event.
